A Modular Architecture for Living in Nature

Mori Cabin is a modular residential system developed as a collection of five distinct cabin typologies. The project explores how architectural quality can be preserved when a building is conceived not as a singular, site-specific object, but as a system that can be produced, transported and situated in different landscapes.

Each typology develops a different relationship between interior space and its natural surroundings. Timber, steel and glass form a compact structural and material language, while large openings establish a direct visual and spatial connection with the landscape.

The first completed model, M1 — The Wild Gradient, is produced as a limited edition of 12 units.

From Architecture to System

The project extends SALON’s interest in developing architectural systems that respond to changing conditions. Rather than reducing a conventional house to a smaller scale, Mori Cabin starts from the specific conditions of modular production, transportation and assembly.

The five typologies share a common structural and material logic while allowing different spatial experiences. Their compactness is not understood as a limitation, but as an opportunity to reconsider how much architecture is necessary for a meaningful relationship with landscape.

Production and Distribution

Mori Cabin brings architectural design into direct dialogue with fabrication and production. The units are manufactured in Gebze, Turkey, where construction is coordinated within a controlled production environment before transportation and installation at their final locations.

The project proposes an architecture that can move beyond the boundaries of a single site: designed as a collection, produced as a system and experienced in different landscapes.
